Melbourne - $30 million early stage Australian technology venture capital fund
Between 1997 and 2004 Jason Bresnehan provided venture capital management services Melbourne based venture capital firm Momentum Investment Group a technology venture capital firm that invests in high-risk early stage companies commercialising technologies internationally.
As part of a four person venture capital team Jason was involved in all aspects of the international venture capital process including; initial company assessment, detailed due diligence, negotiation of investment terms, deal structuring, project managing the deal closing process, legals, subsequent investee management, investee directorships, the development of investee commercialisation strategy and action plans, exit strategy and execution.
Jason travelled throughout the world on behalf of Momentum’s investees and has undertaken mandates in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Atlanta.
During this Jason has performed over 40 detailed assessments of Australian technology companies and led three multi-million dollar investments.

Biovend Ltd
Caulfield and Melbourne - E-Commerce enabled vending systems for biological chemicals
Jason Bresnehan prepared Biovend’s application to Austrade’s Euro High Tech Tour program. Based on the application Jason Bresnehan travelled with a delegation of nine technology company CEOs and Austrade officials to Paris and Milan.
The application included detailed descriptions of the company’s product, marketing and commercialisation strategies as well as addressing specific award assessment criteria.

Business Development Fund
Launceston - $5m non-recourse grant fund for new broad-band related ventures
Between 2001 and 2002 Jason Bresnehan sat on the assessment/advisory committee of the Tasmanian Electronic Commerce Centre’s $5m grant fund, the Business Development Fund Recently the fund assessed the business models of 24 applicants and provided grant funds totalling circa $800,000 to four Tasmanian businesses to seed fund their broadband related business ventures.

Briter Electronics
Sydney and London - Developer and distributor of an innovative electronic fluorescent lamp ballast
Jason Bresnehan arranged $250,000 in seed round finance for the start-up electronics company and sat on the board of Briter Electronics between 2001 and 2002. Jason was involved in all aspects of the company’s start up operations, but ultimately a manufacturing cost development hurdle prevented the company from entering the commercialisation.

Waterhouse Community Irrigation Association Incorporated
Scottsdale - Promoters of a 4 dam off-farm community based water storage and irrigation scheme
Jason Bresnehan was the lead financial advisor to the promoters of the proposed irrigation venture. The mandate included advice on on-farm and water scheme feasibility as well as provides structuring and capital raising options.

Sydney - Developers and global distribution of 3D Video Motion Detection Systems
Jason Bresnehan undertook due diligence of the technology company on behalf of the Lieberman Family’s venture capital fund Jagen Pty Ltd and Momentum Ventures Ltd. The due diligence was performed in preparation for a $2.375 million capital raising.

Jason Bresnehan performed an extensive due diligence of the Australian technology company on behalf of Macquarie Bank and Momentum Ventures. The due diligence incorporated an historical assessment of the technology and financial areas and assessment of the Company’s organisational, financial, technology and marketing strategies.

Launceston - Originator of unsecured personal loans for medical procedures
Jason Bresnehan co-founded and seed invested the medical loan originator. Before selling his investment in June 2001, Jason was instrumental in developing the business model of the start-up venture, facilitating the loan underwriter and developing the Company’s web presence and e-commerce system.

Bosch Engineering Pty Ltd
Launceston - Proposed $40 million 9 dam irrigation scheme in Tasmania
Between 1999 and 2002, Bresnehan Ventures was the key adviser to Bosch Engineering in its bid to secure $500,000 in feasibility funding from the Tasmanian Government to prepare detailed engineering, financial, environmental and social studies into the development of since irrigation schemes northern Tasmania.
