Between 1997 and 2004 Jason Bresnehan provided venture capital management services Melbourne based venture capital firm Momentum Investment Group a technology venture capital firm that invests in high-risk early stage companies commercialising technologies internationally.
As part of a four person venture capital team Jason was involved in all aspects of the international venture capital process including; initial company assessment, detailed due diligence, negotiation of investment terms, deal structuring, project managing the deal closing process, legals, subsequent investee management, investee directorships, the development of investee commercialisation strategy and action plans, exit strategy and execution.
Jason travelled throughout the world on behalf of Momentum’s investees and has undertaken mandates in Singapore, Hong Kong, London, San Diego, Los Angeles, San Francisco, New York and Atlanta.
During this Jason has performed over 40 detailed assessments of Australian technology companies and led three multi-million dollar investments.

Gatton - 11 agribusiness units of the University of Queensland, Gatton College
Jason Bresnehan advised the University of Queensland on its restructure options for its eleven agribusiness units located at Gatton, west of Brisbane.
The agribusiness units consisted of cropping, piggery, deer/persimmons, feed mill, horse unit, seed research, plant nursery, boer goats, butcher shop and dairy. The mandate involved strategic business planning and the development of accurate financial forecasts.

Brisbane - 300 bed student halls of residence at Gatton College
Jason Bresnehan completed a strategic business plan and capital raising for the University of Queensland’s rural residential college. The subsequent development was an innovative conversion of a dorm-style residential hall into a multiple self-contained kitchen areas and lounge areas and rooms for mature age students.

Jason Bresnehan successfully raised $1m in project finance for the development and lease of a heavy-engineering shot-blasting and spray booth facility, constructed at Bredelbane near Launceston’s airport.

Jason Bresnehan was retained to complete a financial review of this suspended ASX listed company to review and develop the financial strategy prior to a trade sale of the business to US investors.

Canberra - Joint Venture Developer and Manufacture of Aluminium Luggage
Imagination Corp funded the establishment of this business which was the world’s first developer of aluminium luggage for professional make up artists and hair stylists. Launched at the Sydney Hair Show and followed up in the Long Beach and New York Hair shows Imagination Corp created the market category.
The products were manufactured in China, via a Chinese agent in Canberra and the products were exported to the US, México, Sweden and Denmark. To this day can be seen carried by forensic scientists on the top rating TV show CSI.

Jason Bresnehan delivered three, six week business training courses to over thirty start-up business owners. The training was delivered as an an RTO nationally accredited and recognized business administration course.
Jason delivered the following training modules: Strength, Weakness, Opportunities and Threat (SWOT) Analysis, Production Strategy, Service Strategy, Marketing Strategy, People Organisation, Finance, Taxation, Intellectual Property, Company Law and Administration.
The trainee particpants, fledging business owners and operators, were involved in various sectors including appliance and automotive servicing, art, beauty therapy, counselling, cleaning, earthmoving, fitness, freight, graphic design, horticulture, hospitality, import/export, massage therapy, products distribution, recruitment, resturants, retail, tourism, website development
The training was delivered as approximately 3 weeks of presentations and group workshops and three weeks of one-on-one, face-to-face coaching.
The outcome was a detailed business plan, detailed cash flow and profit and loss projections and an independent panel giving the business start-up a green light.
